APU/SoC Integrated

An Acceleration Processing Unit (APU) is a coprocessor that may be integrated with CPU on a common chip or within the same package, interconnected via a standard processor bus. This approach offers low latency interactive access to DFPA operations without a modification to the processor design layout. An APU may also be used to accelerate the processing of a specialized DFP-intense computation engine of a stable purpose that justifies the cost of integration and does not require reconfiguration.

A system on a chip or system on chip (SoC) integrates a complex system components on a single chip. It typically includes one or more processors (or DSP cores), memory, and I/O interfaces; and is employed in data processing, communications, and control environments. A SoC may be implemented using different technologies, including FPGAs.
